6400 Children Inspired!

Whew! It’s been a busy past two weeks for Ballet Palm Beach- rewarding nonetheless!

Last Thurs, the company was invited by the Kravis Center to perform “Snow White” as a part of their S*T*A*R series, an educational outreach program for local schools.

The week of Halloween, Ballet Palm Beach joined the Palm Beach Symphony in a series of outreach programs, performing the charming tale of “Peter and the Wolf.” It is always a treat for the dancers to perform with the live music of the symphony. Ballet Palm Beach performed at the Dreyfoos Hall in the Kravis Center, the Eissey Campus Theatre, and the Society of Four Arts.

But, that’s not all… Ballet Palm Beach went to local Boys and Girls clubs (Naoma Donnelley Haggin club in Delray Beach and Max M. Fisher club in Riviera Beach) performing “Peter and the Wolf” sans orchestra. After the performance, children were invited to ask the director and dancers questions and even go up to them to give hugs and get autographs (we all felt like celebrities!). We even had one dancer showing a young girl how to do some of her dance moves!

In total, Ballet Palm Beach in 8 days of outreaches did… 2 ballet productions, 7 performances, in 5 venues, reaching 6400 children!!

Now, THAT is what gives us purpose. Seeing first hand the children smile and react to our performance is why we dance. We are here to be lights and uplift the community. We are proud to be Ballet Palm Beach!
