This summer, Ballet Palm Beach presents a rare opportunity for dedicated dancers. Those students ranging in ages 11-22 are offered a week-long comprehensive immersion, studying the brilliance of 20th century’s greatest choreographer, George Balanchine. The program begins on Monday, July 23rd and runs for five consecutive days.

Key components of George Balanchine© Technique, history, and repertory will be taught with an emphasis on the choreographer’s neo-classical masterpiece, Serenade. All attending students will learn excerpts from Serenade, discovering how the technique is designed to enhance the choreography.

The guest director for the workshop is one Balanchine’s hand-selected former New York City Ballet company members, Wilhelmina Frankfurt.  Another of Balanchine’s former dancers, Steven Caras, will teach several classes during the program.

The Balanchine© Workshop commences during the final week of the Ballet Palm Beach Summer Intensive which begins July 2nd. “We are very proud to offer this opportunity to the ballet students of Palm Beach County and beyond. I know our own students are very excited for this opportunity to learn from Balanchine’s very own dancers, says Colleen Smith, Artistic Director of Ballet Palm Beach and its academy.

Dancers interested in registering for the Balanchine© Workshop or the longer 4-week Summer Intensive, can call 561-630-8235, contact school@balletpalmbeach.org, or click HERE.
