Press Release
Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. –
Ballet Palm Beach performs “Peter and the Wolf” through outreach program “Ballet By The Book” this Nov. at the Eissey Campus Theatre, The Society of Four Arts, The Boys and Girls Club of Martin County and at public library branches throughout the month of Nov. For the last several years Ballet Palm Beach has brought free performances to the Palm Beach County Library System through “Ballet By The Book.” This year Ballet Palm Beach and Palm Beach Symphony collaborate to enhance live performing arts education and outreach for local children. Integrating music and dance, the arts organizations perform one of the most internationally recognized pieces that introduces children to music, Sergei Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf.”

“We are thrilled to perform ‘Peter and the Wolf’ with Palm Beach Symphony at the Eissey Campus Theatre and The Society of Four Arts.” says artistic director Colleen Smith. “In a world where children are more plugged into electronics than the arts, our goal is to bring live classical performances to as many children as possible. ‘Ballet By The Book’ exposes children to literature, music and ballet. We will also perform ‘Peter and the Wolf’ at local public libraries and at the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County with recorded music.”

“Peter and the Wolf” is the story of a boy named Peter and his adventures with a loveable duck, an impatient bird, a fat cat, a grumpy grandfather and a scary wolf. Performances are throughout the month of Nov. and reservations are required. Please see the performance and event calendar for performance dates, times and reservation details.
