Ballet Palm Beach brings “Flash Ballet” to our community on Friday, Oct. 2  and Saturday, Oct. 3.   “Flash Ballet” is a series of free, flash mob style ballet performances that incorporate live ballet into the culture and everyday life of Palm Beach County.  Through these spontaneous performances, over 800 unsuspecting people have been immersed into the world of dance.  The finale will be at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens at approximately 5:30 p.m.  The community can show its support by coming out for a performance or by purchasing tickets to the carousel at Downtown in the Gardens on Saturday, Oct. 3.  All carousel ticket sales on Saturday, Oct. 3 will benefit Ballet Palm Beach.

“Flash Ballet is a way to bring the art of ballet to the people of our community in a fun and fresh way.” said Artistic Director Colleen Smith.  “The arts can be intimidating or unaccessible to some people. Flash Ballet brings ballet to people of all walks of life making the art form inclusive rather than exclusive.”

Ballet Palm Beach (BPB) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving the art of ballet, impacting young lives through the discipline of dance, and enriching the community through the beauty of ballet.  “Flash Ballet” creates an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to share the experience of seeing a live performance during their daily routine.  This outreach program was made possible through a grant awarded by the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.  For more information call 561.630.8235.
