Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – Ballet Palm Beach is pleased to announce it has received a $22,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties.  These funds will be used to support community outreach and education programs Ballet By The Book and Flash Ballet.

Ballet Palm Beach’s Ballet by the Book program adapts children’s literature into original ballets.  The dancers give free performances at libraries throughout Palm Beach County. Since 2009, this program has impacted over 3,500 students and families through library performances and the Families Reading Together Campaign Luncheons. By integrating reading and dance, Ballet by the Book ignites children’s imaginations through both literature and the arts.

Flash Ballet is a series of free, flash-mob style ballet performances that aim to incorporate live ballet performance into the culture and everyday life in Palm Beach County.  Through these spontaneous performances, over 800 unsuspecting people have been immersed into the world of dance. This program creates opportunity for people from all backgrounds to share the experience of seeing a live performance during their daily routine.

These wonderful outreach programs will begin fall 0f 2015.  Please see the calendar of events for upcoming free performances.
