WHO WE ARE

Our School

The Esther Center is the dance school of Ballet Palm Beach, and offers exceptional dance instruction for students of all ages, from beginner to professional levels. Students from four years of age to adult enjoy a comprehensive curriculum taught by our caring, professional faculty in a newly expanded dance facility. The Esther Center offers classes for the student preparing for a professional career, as well as those young people who simply wish to enrich their lives through dance.

Our Mission

The Esther Center is a non-profit corporation committed to training
students in an excellent way for the glory of God. Ballet Palm Beach is a separate 501(c)3 non-profit corporation committed to preserving the art of classical ballet. Students are admitted without regard to race, color, nationaity, or ethnic origin.

Our Strategy

All ballet classes are taught following the Ruth C. Petrinović syllabus. The syllabus was designed to carefully develop dancers using principles of kinesiology and physics, and draws from the heritage of the Vaganova, Cecchetti and RAD schools.
The faculty participates in ongoing teacher training, meeting regularly to discuss curriculum and teaching strategies.
Advancement through the Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions is based on a student’s level of skill and accomplishment, not his or her age. The school’s faculty evaluates and places each student in the appropriate level.
Students in Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions have the opportunity to perform in The Nutcracker and other Ballet Palm Beach performances. The year-end performances are presented by all Esther Center students to showcase our students’ talent and yearly progress.

WHY CHOOSE US

Outstanding Faculty

It is our joy to be a part of so many young peoples’ lives. Knowing a child from the age of three through high school and helping him/her develop as a classical dancer is an amazing privilege. We strive to do an excellent job in training our students. The faculty participates in ongoing teacher training, meeting regularly to discuss curriculum and teaching strategies. Fostering a caring environment where healthy friendships can be formed and maintained is also an important part of the Esther Center. As our students become accomplished dancers, we hope to instill self discipline and self respect; a sense of cooperation not of competition; and a love of dance and confidence in themselves as young artists. As we help our students build graceful, strong, supple bodies and clear, critically thinking minds, it is our hope that they would learn to honor God in all He gives them to do. Thank you for entrusting your child’s dance training to us. It is truly our purpose to train dancers in an excellent and joyful way so as to bring glory to God.

Performance Opportunities

Our performing company, Ballet Palm Beach (BPB), welcomes Esther students in the Levels IV and up to augment their classes with performance opportunities such as The Nutcracker and BPB’s other ballets. Upper Division students may audition to participate on a yearly basis. Students in Lower and Middle Divisions may audition on a per performance basis. Dates for auditions and performances are included in the dance calendar.
